A Life of Joy
You can have a life of joy and receive double for your trouble. I’m going to tell you how that happens.
It happens because of Jesus! If Jesus is your Lord and Savior, it’s one of the many promises he offers to his children.
If you believe in Jesus and acknowledge that he died for your sins and rose again, you are his child.
He loves you and paid a high price for you. He loved you before the creation of the world and wants you to have a life of joy.
Jesus is God’s gift to us. He gave his son so that you could be saved. God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NIV)
But God demonstrates his love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (See Romans 5:8 NIV Bible)
Jesus Wants to Heal You in Every Way
Jesus can heal you everywhere you hurt and give you a life of joy. You may have had tough times, perhaps with abuse or rejection, leaving you emotionally wounded.
Jesus wants to turn your mourning into joy. He wants to give you to have joy and praise in life, rather than a disheartened spirit.
The Great Exchange
When Jesus becomes your savior and Lord, a great exchange occurs in the spirit realm. He gives you everything he is and has. Give him everything you are and everything you are not.
Let Him take your weakness and give you his strength. Give him your sickness and receive his health and healing. Claim your life of joy.
Let God be your source of strength. Exchange your sadness for his joy. Give him your sin and receive his righteousness.
Your Free Gift of Righteousness
Righteousness is a gift He freely gives us as believers in Christ Jesus.
He made Christ who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by his gracious loving-kindness]. (2 Corinthians 5:17 Amplified Bible)
Let go of the past, press on towards the future, and choose to enjoy your new life in Christ.
He knows the plans He has for you. They are plans for progress and success, not defeat and failure (see Jeremiah 29:11 Amplified Bible)
The gospel of John says you will have trouble in this world, but take heart because he (Jesus) has overcome the world. (See John 16:33 New International Version Bible)
Enjoy God’s Favor
When God is with you, you can expect good things. He wants to help you with everything and meet your every need.
It’s time for you to enjoy God’s favor. That means he will bless you even if you don’t deserve it when you put your faith in him.
God wants you to enjoy yourself and your life. He wants to heal you everywhere you hurt. That means spiritually, emotionally, financially, and socially.
In this world, you’ll have problems, but Jesus is here to help you.
The gospel of John says you will have trouble in this world, but take heart because he (Jesus) has overcome the world.
(See John 16:33 NIV Bible)
Let Jesus Make You Whole
Sometimes there might be so hurt that you want to close off part of your life to Him. Don’t make that mistake. Jesus can make you whole.
Trying to avenge yourself or get even rather than trusting God to take care of it for you is one of the greatest mistakes you can make.
As a result, you can end up with a big mess on your hands. The Bible tells us not to avenge ourselves, to leave it up to God.
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. (Romans 12:19 NIV Bible)
That doesn’t mean that they will have miserable lives. They can come to a place of repentance and receive forgiveness just like you and me.
Part of letting Jesus make us whole is by forgiving those who hurt you. Forgiveness helps you heal while holding on to the hurt and bitterness that takes away from your life of joy.
Deliverance From Trouble and Pain
Not everyone will treat you well, and not everything will go the way you want.
However, the Bible tells us that when we trust God no matter what happens and keep our eyes on him, he will take care of us and balance the scales.
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all. (Psalms 34:19 NIV Bible)
Our enemies will be held accountable by the Lord for all they have done to us. As believers, we get back double for all we have lost and suffered. Trust God and wait for true justice. It’s worth it.
Instead of your shame, you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace, you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.
(Isaiah 61:7 NIV Bible)
